I was happy to see my essay on the late Michael Shea was published in Aurealis #135 in a piece titled ‘Cthulhu in California – The Writing of Michael Shea’.
I only recently discovered Shea’s writing through the recent edition of Lovecraft-inspired stories Shea wrote over the course of his career, collected by S.T. Joshi for Dark Regions Press in Demiurge.
For the latest edition of Aurealis, edited by Stephen Higgins, I write about how Shea took the ideas of H.P. Lovecraft and challenges the morality of that author within the setting of contemporary San Francisco.
