New short story published at 96th of October

My thanks to editor Jacob Rabinowitz and the folks over at 96th of October for publishing my short story The Physical Impossibility of British Art.

An artist identified only as 0 holds the city of London hostage with a series of installations, causing massive disruptions across the city. Burnt out journo Shakely bears witness to the chaos that unfolds around the art installations, which are revealed to have literary significance.

This story was originally inspired by a desire to do a parody of a certain writer’s fiction, but evolved into more of a pisstake of referencing in art scenes and ‘Britishness’ as an idea.

Thanks to the folks who have got in touch with their kind comments. Some have pointed out ideas in the story that I did not even really consider as embedded in the mix. So that’s been fun. And congratulations to the other contributors to the Autumn 2020 issue of 96th of October.
